Terms and Conditions

SFI RESEARCH IMAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. This competition is open to SFI-funded researchers and supported team members.
  2. Images must be generated as a result of research that is funded by SFI.
  3. Applicants can submit more than one image to the Competition.
  4. Each entry requires a separate submission.
  5. Entries may comprise colour or black and white images.
  6. Submissions must be in digital format and high resolution to allow for high quality printing.
  7. No hard copy images, slides, prints, etc. will be accepted.
  8. It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the relevant permissions have been sought, copyright is not infringed, any necessary release forms signed and that publication will not infringe any embargo.
  9. Book Cover images are accepted – all copyright clearance required to permit use of the book cover as per these Terms & Conditions, must be sought by the Book Author or Editor, or the person who submits the Book Cover to the Competition. Proof of such copyright clearance / permission may be sought at a future date.
  10. No responsibility is taken for entries lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete due to server functions, virus, bugs or any other cause outside SFI’s control.
  11. The competition will be judged by an assigned selection panel and the judges’ decision is final, no negotiation will be entered into.
  12. SFI reserves the right to display, reproduce or publish, or give permission to display, reproduce or publish any entry without payment, for the purpose of promoting the competition or the research funded by SFI in Ireland.
  13. By submitting an image to the competition, you grant SFI a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute and otherwise exercise all copyright and other rights with respect to that image at their exclusive discretion.
  14. SFI reserves the right not to publish or exhibit submitted images.
  15. Participation in this competition will be deemed to constitute full and unconditional acceptance of its terms and conditions.
